I turn a client's styling surface into a part that can actually be built, and take it all the way to serial production.
For more than eight years at Antolin, I've worked on automotive interior components from the first CAD model to the start of production. I take the styling surface an OEM sends us and build it into a complete production part in CATIA and NX, designed around what our thermoforming and plastic injection processes can really deliver.
Today, as Technical Design Leader, I own part design end to end: feasibility, DFMEA, tolerances, engineering changes, and launch support, working side by side with tooling, quality, production, and suppliers. Before that, I grew our CAD team from 3 to 10 engineers, and I still enjoy training people and building shared standards, like the headliner design criteria I developed through a workshop in Spain.
I work in five languages, including English and French, which lets me speak directly with clients and teams across Europe and North America.
Headliners, an essential part of automotive interiors, are designed and manufactured through the thermoforming process to ensure durability, lightweight properties, and a perfect fit.
Plastic components in vehicle interiors require precision engineering and high-quality manufacturing. My work involves the design and development of:
Every part I design starts as a styling surface from the client and ends as a component running in series production. The diagram above shows how I take it there, and what happens after SOP, when plant issues and customer changes still need a design answer.
A design only works if it respects how the part will be made. In my work, that means two processes:
Headliners are produced by thermoforming, where the difference between the 3D model and the real formed part has to be anticipated in the design itself.
Plastic components are produced by injection molding, where Moldflow results and thickness management shape the final geometry.
As a Technical Leader, I have had the privilege of working with several prominent automotive clients, including Volkswagen, Mercedes-Benz, Skoda, and Renault.
My responsibilities included maintaining direct communication with these clients to understand their unique needs and expectations, providing technical guidance, and ensuring that their requirements were met with precision and excellence.
